A Barrie man was charged with impaired driving after an eagle-eyed cop trained their sights on a vehicle that appeared to be stopped alongside Highway 11 southbound in a "concerning matter."

Around 12:30 Tuesday afternoon, police were conducting commercial motor vehicle enforcement at the Gravenhurst Truck Inspection Station on Highway 11 when the vehicle caught the attention of an officer.

The officer began an investigation and charged a 46-year-old with impaired driving and operation while prohibited.

The accused has a court date in September.
