Despite earlier efforts, Barrie Police are still on the hunt for a suspect in connection with to two separate break-and-enters on Wednesday and are appealing to the public.

Officers were called to a restaurant around 1:20 a.m. on Bell Farm Road when an alarm system notified the owner about a break-in. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the perpetrator had entered and exited through the previously locked rear door.

The owner confirmed to police that no cash or property had been taken.

Police say multiple units, including the K9 unit, assisted with the search, but neither were able to find the suspect. However, a blue and black backpack containing several tools, including side cutters and a nail puller were recovered at the scene.

Soon after, police were called to a nearby location regarding another break-and-enter in the area of Bell Farm Road and St. Vincent Street which had also been broken into around the same time as the first location.

Police say they determined the suspect entered and exited through a previously locked side door.

Surveillance video retrieved from both areas showed a suspect consistent with both incidents.

The man seen is described as roughly five feet 10 inches tall, wearing a green ball cap, light-grey zip-up hoodie, dark grey sweatpants, and grey/black running shoes with white soles.

The investigation remains ongoing, although police are asking anyone who can identify the person involved or has information that could assist with the investigation to reach out.
