Barrie Police say A 61-year-old Barrie woman found dead in the water at Tyndale Park in the city's south end had been reported missing earlier that day.

Police say officers responded to the park around 2:30 Thursday afternoon.

Children attending a day camp at the beach were safely escorted to Dock Road, where parents were notified to pick them up.

Investigators say the woman's death is not considered suspicious.

Out of respect for the family's privacy, police say no further details will be provided.
