Barrie Police stopped a motorcycle on Mapleview Drive West on Saturday after officers patrolling the area noticed the licence plate wasn't mounted properly and was installed in a way that obstructed the letters and numbers.
During their investigation, police say they determined the vehicle plate was not authorized, the driver was unable to produce a motorcycle permit, and he told officers the bike was not insured.
As a result, the 41-year-old man was charged with obstructing a plate, using a plate not authorized for a vehicle, failure to surrender a permit for a motor vehicle, and operating a vehicle without insurance.
The motorcycle was towed from the scene.
