Cash missing from wallet returned to Barrie bank

Ontario Provincial Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man they believe may have information about money stolen from a wallet in Springwater Township.

On Friday, May 29, police say a male went into a convenience store on Bayfield Street North, where he came into possession of a wallet.

The next day, police say the wallet owner was contacted by their bank and told that the wallet had been returned to a Bayfield Street branch in Barrie.

Police say the man who returned the wallet matches the description of a Caucasian man with an olive complexion, between 40 and 50 years old, thin build, about five-foot-ten, and tattoos on his arm.

The OPP continues to investigate and is asking anyone who may have information regarding the identity of the individual, or further information in relation to this incident, to contact the Huronia West OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
