You can't get there from here…but maybe from over there.
Access to Cedar Pointe Drive at Dunlop Street in Barrie will be denied sometime after 7 o'clock this morning (July 10) so the city can realign the sewer system in advance of the Dunlop Street bridge replacement. The existing alignment crosses Dunlop on the west side of the bridge and then crosses Highway 400 south of the bridge. This conflicts with MTO’s future bridge structure.
If you want to get to businesses on Cedar Pointe Drive, you'll have to do it from Edgehill Drive. All businesses will always have at least one driveway access point throughout the construction.
Dunlop Street will remain open throughout, but there could be lane closures at times.
In addition, the sidewalk on the north side of Dunlop will be closed from Sarjeant Drive to Cedar Pointe Drive. And there will be issues for pedestrians on the west side of Cedar Pointe.
Bus route 6 will also be detoured.
This work is expected to be completed by mid-August.
