Barrie Police say a person was robbed at knifepoint at an ATM in downtown Barrie.
"On Sunday, June 25, 2023, at approximately 9:11 a.m., Barrie Police responded to a report of a robbery where the victim was held at knifepoint and led to the drive-thru ATM at the rear of the Scotia Bank, located at 44 Collier St., in the City of Barrie," police said in a news release on Tuesday.
The suspect allegedly withdrew money from the victim's account using the individual's bank card and personal identification number.
Closed circuit video in the area captured images of the suspect who is described as being 25 to 40 years old, 5'8" - 6', slimmer build, 180 pounds, with short brown hair and a full brown beard, and was wearing a dark t-shirt (possibly grey), with a yellow logo/label "GEORGIAN Equipment Orillia" on the left chest area, black undershirt, red shorts and carrying a black/grey backpack.
"The backpack is unique as the upper section is grey with a black horizontal stripe and a pull string compartment at the top. The lower section is darker (possibly black) with 3 vertical black stripes (possibly Adidas) and a horizontal zip pocket at the front, with a grey logo in the bottom right corner and a white logo in the bottom left corner," police added.
