A 50-year-old Barrie man has been charged following a months‑long human trafficking investigation.
Investigators say they received information in June that a man was recruiting females to provide sexual services for an escort operation running out of his residence. Police later identified online advertisements for sexual services linked to the accused.
On August 12, officers executed a search warrant at an address in Springwater Township. Michael Brocklebank was arrested without incident on August 30 in Mississauga.
He is facing several charges, including:
- Trafficking in persons
- Material benefit from trafficking in persons
- Material benefit from sexual services
- Procuring - exercise control, direction or influence
- Advertising sexual services
- Assault
- Fail to comply with probation order
Police have released Brocklebank’s name and photo, saying they believe there may be additional victims.
