Eligible electors can now check whether they are on the municipal voters list directly through the City of Barrie. The Elections Ontario voter registration tool previously available for the 2026 municipal election is now closed. Eligible electors can use the new City Voter Lookup and Registration Portal to confirm they are on the municipal voters list, add their name to the list or correct their information. The portal allows electors to complete the registration or update process online and provide acceptable identification as part of the process where required. The portal is available at barrie.ca/election.
Electors can also check whether they are on the voters’ list by emailing be.counted@barrie.ca or calling 705-728-VOTE (8683), Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To add or correct elector information, residents can use the online portal, visit a Voter Assistance Centre, or visit Legislative and Court Services on the first floor of City Hall, 70 Collier Street, during regular business hours.
Eligible electors who are added to the voters list will receive a Voter Information Letter prior to the election. Letters, which include a unique voting PIN and voting instructions, will be mailed in late September. Residents who have not received their Voter Information Letter by October 13 should contact the City at 705-728-8683 (VOTE) or be.counted@barrie.ca. Voter Assistance Centres will also be available on October 22, 23, 24 and 26 to provide support to electors.
