Barrie Police stolen vehicle

News release - Barrie Police Service

The Barrie Police Service is reminding car and pickup truck owners to never leave your vehicle unattended and unlocked and to never leave keys, wallets, purses, or valuables behind.

Yesterday morning, at 10:00 a.m., a Honda Ridgeline pickup truck was stolen when the out-of-town owner went into an Anne St. business. When he returned 13 minutes later, the truck was gone.

Unfortunately, the owner had left the keys and his wallet behind. The truck was also left unlocked which allowed an opportunistic thief the chance to take full advantage of the situation.

For the owner, the wallet contained personal documentation that will require replacement as well as credit and bank cards that will need to be cancelled and replaced as well. Also in the truck were a selection of tools (no descriptions available).

The stolen pickup truck is described as a 2019, black, Honda Ridgeline, with Ontario licence plate BA29399.

There is no suspect description as video surveillance was not available and the direction of travel after the truck was stolen is not known.
