Charges laid after wrong-way driver strikes median in Innisfil

The driver and his female passenger were treated for minor injuries

Police charged a Mississauga man with impaired and dangerous driving after a wrong-way driver struck a median in Innisfil.

Around 4:00 a.m. today, officers say a vehicle travelling westbound in an eastbound lane struck the median on Innisfil Beach Road near Webster Boulevard.  

The driver and his female passenger were treated for minor injuries at a local hospital.

A 64-year-old was charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired - Excess Blood Alcohol, and Dangerous Operation.  

His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
