Provincial police have arrested a 34-year-old suspect connected to a months-long drug trafficking investigation in New Tecumseth on Wednesday.

Nottawasaga OPP's community street crime unit (CSCU) began the investigation in the summer related to a person trafficking illegal drugs in Alliston. It received assistance from the Huronia West detachment's CSCU and the OPP Central Region repeat offender parole enforcement (ROPE) squad.

Eventually, investigators found and arrested the suspect before executing a search warrant at their residence.

That warrant resulted in seizures of 41 grams of suspected fentanyl, 38 grams of suspected cocaine, and $630 in Canadian currency.

The 34-year-old from Adjala-Tosorontio was charged with possession of cocaine and fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

They were released and will appear at a Bradford court at a later date.
