Innisfil man charged as police seize loaded gun, drugs

A long list of charges for a 21-year-old Innisfil man after South Simcoe Police responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch.

This was just before 11 p.m. on Saturday in the area of St. Johns Road and 6th Line in Innisfil.

Once on scene, police learned the lone occupant of the vehicle had walked away from the crash and returned prior to the arrival of officers.

The driver, who suffered minor injuries, was arrested at the scene for impaired driving.

Police searched the area and located a quantity of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

The K9 unit was called to the scene to conduct and search and located a semi-automatic handgun.

The suspect is facing over a dozen charges, including impaired driving, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, multiple-firearms-related offences, drug possession, and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
