Firefighters knock down morning blaze in Barrie's north end

Barrie Fire Ferris Lane Townhouse Complex

Barrie firefighters tackled a blaze at a townhouse complex unit in the north end Saturday morning.

Derek Wilson, deputy fire chief for Barrie Fire & Emergency Services, told Barrie 360 they were called just after 7:30 a.m. to 63 Ferris Lane.

Wilson says the two occupants escaped as soon as they saw smoke.

No injuries were reported.

He added that the cause of the fire is unknown at this time as they are just beginning their investigation.
