Trouble brews after traffic stop, Collingwood OPP find cocaine in coffee jar

A man and woman from Collingwood are facing charges after OPP found cocaine in a coffee jar during a traffic stop.

Police say the incident happened in Collingwood on Saturday morning.

"OPP officers observed cannabis readily available to both occupants in the motor vehicle. As a result, a search was conducted under the authority of the Cannabis Control Act," officers say.

"During which point a Maxwell House coffee jar was located and found to contain 51.7 grams of cocaine."

A 64-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman were each charged with possession of a schedule I substance - cocaine under the Controlled Drugs & Substances Act.
