Not a good Sunday for a male driver who was pulled over by Barrie police on St. Vincent Street near Grove Street around 9:52 a.m. after an officer noticed the vehicle had expired licence plates.

The 36-year-old from Barrie produced a valid driver's licence, but police say he was not compliant with conditions from a previous conviction for impaired driving, which required him to have an ignition interlock device.

He was arrested for operating a vehicle while prohibited.

The car he was driving did not belong to him and it was impounded for 45 days.

The accused has a court date in March.
