Alleged impaired driver strikes hydro pole in Oro-Medonte

A woman has been charged with impaired driving after emergency crews responded shortly after 2:30 Friday afternoon to reports of a car that had struck a hydro pole on Line 12 South in Oro-Medonte.

"It was also reported that the driver who appeared intoxicated suffered an injury and was attempting to get out of the vehicle," police stated in a news release Friday evening.

Police said officers got to the scene and began an investigation where they determined the motorist was impaired by alcohol.

She was transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The 66-year-old from Oro-Medonte has a court date in March.
