Some madness is on the way this month, and it's all for a good cause.
McCully of Rock 95 is back with his March Madness For Kids fundraiser where he eats healthy and exercises for the entire month in exchange for charity donations.
Those donations go toward Easter Seals Ontario.
There is a clever twist to the transaction, though.
"What the exercises are, what I do physically, it's not up to me, it's up to people who donate, McCully told Barrie 360. "You throw down a donation, you get to force me to do something that you come up with."
What could the challenge be?
"It can be a hard exercise, it can be a chore, it can be manual labour, just as long as you're getting me moving and sweating," explained McCully. "Sky's the limit to your creativity."
He's chopped and stacked firewood, done a cheerleader workout, and even had to flip a giant tire back and forth from one end of a parking lot to the other.
He added that as long as he doesn't get hurt, sick, or break the law, he's up for the challenge.
But, what is more difficult, the exercising or the strict diet?
"Every year is different," said McCully. "I yo-yo fitness-wise and weight-wise, and this kind of helps me be accountable when you're telling the world that you've got to stick to something. It really helps."
Who can help with the initiative?
"Because the Rock 95 listenership encompasses Simcoe County - if you can hear me put the challenge out, you can come back at me with a challenge," he said.
And according to him, the initiative is unofficially aiming for $5,000.
What's the history of March Madness for Kids?
"The whole thing started a little less than a decade ago just as a fitness challenge, a way to be held accountable. Who wants to join me for madness, working out 31 days straight? When there wasn't that hook, that, 'why are we doing this,' it wasn't very successful," said McCully.
"The next year, which was my first year living in South Georgian Bay, I decided to brand it for youth-based charity, and every year I've picked a different youth-based charity.
"It's been years of sharing the funds around the county."
