Barrie police had some piecing together to do when they received a call just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday about a pickup truck in the ditch on Blake Street.

While headed to the scene, officers were told the truck was removed from the ditch and was in a restaurant parking lot, striking parked cars, and the man and woman in the truck appeared to be impaired.

A 34-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were arrested for impaired driving.

Authorities said it was determined that the man was initially driving the truck when it left the road and was behind the wheel when police arrived to the parking lot, and the female had also been driving the truck at that location.

Both individuals were charged with impaired driving, and the female also received several tickets under the Highway Traffic Act as well as for liquor and auto insurance infractions.
