Barrie police say they are looking for two suspects relating to a "completely avoidable" collision on Cundles Road East.
The two-vehicle crash happened near Lions Gate Boulevard at around 3:45 p.m. on Monday - police, fire, and paramedics responded.
"The collision ... occurred after a black-coloured passenger car that was travelling eastbound on Cundles Road East reportedly drifted across a number of lanes of traffic and struck a white coloured sport utility vehicle (SUV) that was travelling westbound in the curb lane of Cundles Road East," Barrie police said in a release.
"The driver of the SUV sustained minor non-life-threatening injuries."
They added that the driver of the car was passed out at the time of the collision.
"A male and female who were in the passenger car fled the scene on foot and although a canine track was conducted, they managed to elude being apprehended," police noted.
However, they say the two - a 31-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman - have been identified and warrants are being sought for their arrest.
Officers also seized a quantity of suspected heroin, cocaine, and drug-related paraphernalia from the car.
