With many events "Jockeying" for your attention this summer, this one should be high on your list for front runners! Barrie Rotary Club is bringing the south to the great white north with the Kempenfelt Derby. The event will take over Georgian Downs on June 11th.
Horse Racing
There is something special about the atmosphere at a horse race. Whether it's hearing the thunderous gallop of horses in a dead heat, listening to the announcer speed through the creative horse names, or rushing back to your seat after the "1-minute until post time, 1-minute" announcement, there is an energy to the whole experience that is hard to beat.
Get Fancy
The Kempenfelt Derby gives you the perfect excuse to break out your best duds and your shiniest shoes. Men, we should be able to see your bow ties from across the track, and ladies, bonus points if your hat is too large to fit through the door. Feeling good is looking good and at the Kempenfelt Derby, you will feel spectacular!

What is better than dressing up and attending a uniquely fun event with friends? Knowing that all the money raised will be used to support two wonderful causes: The Barrie Rotary Club and Gilda's Club Simcoe Muskoka. The Barrie Rotary Club helps support our community in so many ways and Gilda's Club Simcoe Muskoka supports cancer patients with a loving community.
