The holidays might have to take a back seat because I'm positive that the most wonderful time of the year is, in fact, Barrielicious.
With over 50 restaurants offering up special menus full of prix fixe full course meals ranging from $15 to $30, you might have a hard time fitting in every single one of them (but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try).
Here is a sample of just a few of the amazing restaurants you can check out during Barrielicious.
Fishbone ($30)
Crowned this year's "Top Chef Barrie", Fishbone combines seafood with the vibrant flavors of Portugal for a unique and unforgettable experience.
Starter
Roasted Parsnip & Apple Soup or Beet & Grapefruit Salad.
Main
Shrimp Linguine, Moroccan Octopus, or Grilled Piri Piri Cornish Hen.

Dunlop St. Diner ($25)
Last year's "Top Chef Barrie" (and this year's silver medalist), Dunlop St. Diner uses locally sourced ingredients to deliver amazing food in a casual atmosphere.

Mini Bacon & Brie Pancake with apricot jelly, pickled red onion, and basil.
Main
Braised Short Rib Skillet with sweet potato, caramelized onions, spinach, mushrooms, aged white cheddar, sesame peanut brittle, poached eggs, and a maple-infused hollandaise sauce.
Desert
Pound cake French toast dippers with house-made jam.
The Farmhouse ($30)
The Farmhouse might just be the best deal around for Barrielicious. Combine its family-chic farm food with the awesome atmosphere and you've got yourself a slam dunk. Be sure to check out the full menu but here are some of our favorites.

Chef Francesco and the Limoncello team bring freshly made and locally sourced ingredients together to create delicious flavors in every dish.

The North Restaurant ($30)
Not only is The North Restaurant offering a $30 menu for Barrielicious but they are going above and beyond with a special $45 sampling option that lets you try two starters, two mains, and 2 desserts!

Soup-celery root with potato and cumin, Spring roll salad with hoisin glaze, or Grilled Mushroom Salad Goat Cheese on A Toasted Crostini.
Main
Brisket with garlic mashed potatoes, BC smoked snapper with roasted new potatoes, Smoked chicken risotto, or Vegetarian polenta with roasted garlic, grilled portabella, and radicchio.
Dessert
Tiramisu or New York-style cheesecake with apple and caramel compote.
PIE Wood Fired Pizza Joint ($20)
PIE Wood Fired Pizza Joint was the first to bring wood-fired pizza to Barrie and have now been voted the cities best pizza for six years in a row! Lots of choices on this menu so check the whole thing out but here's a sample.

Flying Monkeys was Barrie's first craft brewery and there's a reason it's still around. Delicious food, fun and creative atmosphere, and a huge selection of amazing locally crafted beer.
