TIFF is being reimagined with new physical, virtual, and interactive options that will allow the festival to proceed for its 45th year.

Over the first five days of the festival, films will premier physically but in new, exciting, and socially distanced ways. TIFF is working closely with the City of Toronto to provide ways to experience films beyond the theatre including drive-in and outdoor experiences.

Another brand new way to experience the festival will be TIFF's first-ever digital platform that will host premieres, talks and Q&A sessions, and tons of other special events.

“The pandemic has hit TIFF hard, but we’ve responded by going back to our original inspiration — to bring the very best in film to the broadest possible audience,” said Cameron Bailey, Artistic Director and Co-Head, TIFF. “Our teams have had to rethink everything and open our minds to new ideas".

TIFF 2020 will also be welcoming some big names as TIFF Ambassadors, 50 filmmakers and actors who will help deliver a strong festival, including Martin Scorsese, Taika Waititi, Alfonso Cuarón, Denis Villeneuve, and many more.

More information about tickets, venues, and film selections will become available in the coming weeks.
