'It shows our youth that the community loves, cares, and supports them'
Youth Haven Polar Plunge

Into the cold, they go!

On Monday, 28-year-old Jordan Ford, 19-year-old James Robb, and 18-year-old Sarena Brincat concluded the frigid fundraiser for Youth Haven by splashing into the water of Kempenfelt Bay for the 100th day in a row.

Jennifer Kaplinski, Assistant to the Executive Director of Youth Haven, and a participant in the 100th plunge, says the initiative helps raise awareness for the youth at Youth Haven.

"It shows our youth that the community loves, cares, and supports them," Kaplinski told Barrie 360. "It brings funds in for our programs that support our youth in becoming successful members of our community."

The 100-day frigid fundraiser has collected $2,500.

Ford, the creator of the 100-day plunge, has two other fitness, health, mind and body, style challenges scheduled this year - with an aim of raising $20,000, all of which will go to Youth Haven.
