A Penetanguishene man faces numerous firearms-related charges following an unwanted persons call to Southern Georgian Bay OPP by a community member.

Police say they received the call just before 7 p.m., on April 16, and it reported an unwanted person at a Beauchamp Court, Midland residence.

Responding officers located a 39-year-old Penetanguishene near the scene who was arrested as part of another investigation.

OPP say they seized a .22 calibre handgun with ammunition, along with two airsoft pistols, and an edged weapon.

The accused has been charged with multiple offences, including failure to comply with release and probation orders, and unauthorized possession of a weapon.

Police say he was held for a bail hearing and will appear in court at a future date.
