June is Pride Month in Canada and it's the perfect time to learn all about the contributions and history of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, as well as celebrate open-mindedness and inclusion. The Barrie Public Library is making that easier than ever thanks to a huge list of resources, books, and programs running all month long.
If you're a bookworm, the BPL has a specially curated section of books featuring content by or about the 2SLGBTQ+ community for adults, teens, and children. The programming running all month includes book chats, author talks, film selections, community spotlights, and more. Finally, there is also a list of resources you can tap into to learn all about Pride in Canada, Pronouns 101, the Progress Pride Flag, and more.
The Barrie Public Library is proudly part of Barrie's growing list of Pride Positive Place, an oath program for businesses and community partners who stand against discrimination and champion inclusivity.
For more information about Pride in Barrie, head over to the Barrie Pride website and don't forget to check out everything over on the BPL's website.
