Golden Globes Nominees announced in spite of awards controversy
Nominations for the 2022 Golden Globes have been announced amid controversy.
NBC, the long-time broadcaster of the awards, announced they would not air the show, slated for January 9.
Last year, many in Hollywood spoke out about the lack of diversity in the Hollywood Foreign Press, a group of journalists who vote on the awards. Out of its 87 members, there are no black members. There have also been reports of unethical behaviour in the organization.
Regardless of the turmoil surrounding the HFPA, the group went ahead with nominations on Monday.
HBO's "Succession" and Apple TV's "The Morning Show" received the most nominations among television shows. "Power of the Dog' and 'Belfast' leads the film nominations."
