Put on a happy face; a sequel to “Joker” is on the way.
Filmmaker Todd Phillips shared pictures of a finished script on Instagram with the working title “Joker: Folie à deux” which translates to “shared madness.”
The Star of the first movie, Joaquin Phoenix, is seen giving the script a read-through.
Talks of a sequel are surprising. In an interview with Toronto Sun in 2019, Phillips said there were no plans for a sequel.
“This is a one-time movie. We’re not talking about sequels. We’re not tying it into anything. There’s no secret Easter egg thing setting up something else.”

The original told the story of party clown Arthur Fleck, who suffers from a condition that causes him to laugh uncontrollably. Troubles with his personal and professional life eventually lead to his evolution as “The Joker.”
The movie went on to earn $1 billion worldwide and won several awards, including best actor.
