Nothing says "Bad Romance" like Lady Gaga, which is why she's the perfect mate for the Joker.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gaga is in early talks to play Harley Quinn, opposite Joaquin Phoenix in "Joker: Folie à Deux."

Word of the sequel to the 2019 hit was announced last week, along with news that Phoenix will likely return as the troubled sad clown, Arthur Fleck, AKA "Joker."

The unstable couple's love story begins when Quinn, a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum, falls in love with her patient, Arthur Fleck.

Folie à Deux translates to "shared madness" or "madness of two" and is referenced when two people share the same psychological disorder.

Details of the script are under wraps so it's unknown how closely it will follow their previous backstories. There's rumours it could be a musical.

However, you can expect a much darker, grittier version of Harley Quinn when compared to the eccentric version played by Margot Robbie in Suicide Squad.
