The moment "Workin' Moms" hit our TV sets in 2017, we were hooked.
This is why fans everywhere aren't going to like this news.
Creator, writer, director, and star Catherine Reitman has announced that The Netflix/CBC comedy series is ending after seven seasons.
The shooting of season seven is underway in Toronto.
It showcased a group of Toronto women returning to work after a year of maternity leave. Their feel scared, excited, happy, and, yes, even guilty.
The show tackled divorce, depression, infidelity, abortion, and raising a teenager while making us laugh until we peed.
You knew these moms were weird, deeply flawed, and hilarious from the opening episode, and we loved them for it.
In a statement, Reitman said,
"And so, it is with love and gratitude that I'm announcing season seven as our final season. The biggest thank you to our partners, CBC and Netflix, for getting behind a show that points a flashlight into the darkest corners of motherhood.
In a video to fans, she added, "we F^c&#*g love making this show, but it is time. We've had a hell of a run, and we've had a hell of a run because of you."
She explains this season is a love letter to fans and to her father, Ivan Reitman, who passed away this year.
The final season will be on CBC early next year, followed by a release on Netflix.
