Is "Minions: The Rise of Gru "the new "Rocky Horror Picture Show"?
A new TicTok trend, #Gentleminions, consists of a large group of teens dressed up in suits and heading to see the "Despicable Me" prequel.
This well-dressed bunch will mimic Gru's mannerisms, shout at the screen and bring an arsenal of bananas.
It sounds harmless enough. What's wrong with dressing up in nice threads to watch a movie and bringing a healthy snack?

Well… some theatres are reporting disruptive behaviour from the groups, which include being rude, destructive, throwing banana's and being plain annoying.
What makes it worse is that families with young children are so disrupted by the groups that they leave before the movie's over, leaving the kids heartbroken.
One theater near Cornwall, England posted a note saying they will not permit unaccompanied children in suits to screenings of the movie.

Not all groups are badly behaved, though. It's a case of a few bad bananas.
The gimmick is praised in some theatres where the #Gentleminions are respectful and sweet to the younger kids in the theatre.
After seeing these large groups come in droves to see Gru's origin story, it's understandable why the movie is a huge hit.
