Plans are well underway for a biopic about Amy Winehouse called "Back to Black."

Sam Taylor-Johnson, who directed the first installment of "Fifty Shades of Grey" has been tapped for this project.

Deadline reports that the movie has had a tough time getting off the ground floor, but they have found their director and things are moving fast with the full support of the Amy Winehouse estate.

According to Deadline, this upcoming biopic will look at the life and music of Winehouse, who started as a budding North London jazz singer to eventually become a Grammy-winning music superstar.

Winehouse died in 2011 at age 27, following a long battle with alcohol and drugs.

Casting will get underway shortly.

If production follows through, it would be the first feature film about the singer.

In 2015 "A24" released a documentary called "Amy," which chronicled her early career, success, substance abuse struggles, and untimely death.

The documentary was a huge success, winning the Oscar for best documentary.
