Warner Bros. pulls the plug on "Batgirl": won't be released in theatres or any other streaming service

Warner Bros spent $90 million on a movie that will never see the light of day.

The studio has axed the DC film, "Batgirl," meaning it won't be shown in theatres or streamed on HBO Max or any other streaming service.

In 2021, the film was originally made as part of Warner Bros.'s plan to make feature films to stream specifically for HBO Max.

Fast forward to today, and it seems the company has changed its mind, wanting their DC films to be made as major blockbusters.

Batgirl doesn't fit into that mold, as it was made for screens in homes, not a theatrical release.

According to Variety, the decision to shelf the movie has nothing to do with quality or commitment by the filmmakers.

The film eventually reached the post-production stage but cost $90 million to make.

The movie had a good cast around it, with Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon /Batgirl, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Jim Gordon. Michael Keaton also reprises his role as Batman for the film, and in another DC Film, The Flash

Film makers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah issued the following statement to fans
