"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "WandaVision" star Emma Caulfield has revealed she has multiple sclerosis.
The 49-year-old actress known for playing the vengeance demon Anya on "Buffy," was diagnosed with MS in 2010.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, she says her first attack happened at a particularly stressful time in her life.
"I woke up one morning, and the left side of my face felt like there were a million ants crawling on it. That feeling when you've sat in a position too long," she explains.
Her Doctor confirmed she had MS shortly after.
She kept her diagnosis a secret until now for fear of it affecting her work.
She says "I didn't want to give anyone the opportunity not to hire me. There are already plenty of reasons to not hire people, reasons most actors don't even know. 'You look like my ex-girlfriend; you're too short, you're too tall, you look mean, you look too nice, you don't have the right color eyes.' "
She also revealed that she was extremely uncomfortable while filming "WandaVision" in the Summer of 2020, In LA.
"My body works that much harder to cool me; it's a major stress on the body," she told the Magazine.
"I just went into survival mode, and I remember having to be outside. It was just unfortunate timing. But I was very, very uncomfortable, and no one knew."
Caulfield will reprise her role in WandaVision spin-off series "Agatha: Coven of Chaos."
