Parents, clear your schedules because Disney has announced some highly anticipated animated sequels.

Disney CEO Bob Iger announced they are developing "Frozen 3," "Toy Story 5", and "Zootopia 2" during an investors meeting.

Not many other details were announced except for Iger saying, "We'll have more to share about these productions soon, but this is a great example of how we're leaning into our unrivalled brands and franchises."

"Toy Story 4" ended with Woody willingly becoming a lost toy and deciding to leave the kid life behind and travel the world with his main love, Bo. It felt like a real ending to the franchise, so it's curious to see how they go forward.

The news of the Frozen sequel isn't surprising. In June 2022, one of its stars Kristen Bell told the Tonight Show, "I would like to officially announce, with zero authority, "Frozen 3" Please bear in mind, I did say 'zero authority' because I can't actually announce it. I can't do that; I'm not in charge. But there could be something in the works, and something may be happening."

The welcome news of the sequels to the beloved films is bittersweet, however. Earlier in the day, Iger announced that Disney would be laying off 7,000 employees, and the Disney+ streaming service experienced a decline in subscribers.
