Someone has decided the best way to use the divider on grocery store conveyor belt is length-wise instead of width-wise.
The original post comes from Ryan Vaughan, an Arkansas meteorologist who posted about how he places the divider.
"I'm at the store tonight and noticed some of you don't know how to use the divider. You need to put it long ways to trip the sensor and keep a distance. Some of y'all use it as a privacy fence."
In all fairness, it sounds like he was having fun with us, and he doesn't believe his hype.
Regardless, the claim has gotten people strangely defensive, but what else is new with social media?
So far, his post has received 13 thousand comments.
One woman sent Vaughan a video of her young son placing it width-wise and saying, "Don't @ me Ryan Vaughan."
Other comments include..
"That's just stupid. It holds up the line. If they were meant to be used that way they would all be hollow and not have caps on them."
"Or that would just make the line longer because you can't even start putting your groceries up there ahead of time and you gonna be putting groceries up there still and the cashier gonna be ready for you to put the bagged ones in your cart that's not ready yet. You can tell you're a single person and don't shop for a full household."
Other joked…
"You're the reason eggs are so expensive."
and
"The world is already so divided man c'mon."
Thankfully Vaughan has a great sense of humour and responded with,
"Tomorrow on Facebook, I'll tell y'all why the McDonald's drive thru is different from the OG Paragould Shadrachs … And how a lot of people are doing both wrong."
