Ed Sheeran is fed up and says he will quit music if he loses his infringement lawsuit.

Sheeran is battling it out in court amid claims his 2014 hit "Thinking Out Loud" is a rip-off of the Marvin Gaye 1973 classic "Let's Get It On."

The 32-year-old Grammy award winner is being sued by the estate of one of Gaye's co-writers, Ed Townsend. Gaye's estate is not involved in the lawsuit.

According to the Daily Mail UK, Sheeran said if he loses the trial, he plans to stop writing music saying, " If that happens, I'm done, I'm stopping.'

While being questioned by his lawyer, he said he found the whole trial insulting.

"I find it really insulting to devote my whole life to being a performer and a songwriter and have someone diminish it.'

Last year a jury sided with Sheeran in a separate copyright lawsuit which alleged part of his hit "Shape of You" copied a part of artist Sami Switch's song "Oh Why."
