The latest TikTok trend has people paying homage to Ronald McDonald's creepy sidekick, Grimace.

The giant purple… whatever he is, celebrates his 52 birthday this month, and as part of a promotion, Mcdonald's offers a purple berry-flavoured milkshake.

However, the internet world has turned them into hilarious mini-horror movies.

The videos start with someone enjoying the shake, but soon they turn into either purple puking zombies or the camera cuts to them being dismembered.

The sky is the limit to the horror that Grimace brings, and it's hilarious.

It's brought out people's imagination. The one below channels some "Paranormal Activity" vibes with a creepy McDonalds jingle in the background.

The person who made the original Grimace video explains the trend, and it's all about the fun.

@thefrazmaz Replying to @Jonesy I originally made it for a quick, funny, one-off video and a lot of people jumped on board which honestly made it so much funnier #grimaceshake #grimace #mcdonalds #trend #viral #fyp ♬ original sound - Fraz
