Robert De Niro will not reprise his 1976 Taxi Driver character.

Rumor's swirled last week when it was reported that De Niro was shooting a series of ads for Uber and would reprise his role as Travis Bickle.

A rep for the 80-year-old actor and Uber are denying the rumours.

The actor's spokesman said, "De Niro's Uber commercial has nothing to do with his Taxi Driver character." He added he will not be uttering the "You talkin to me?" line."

Meanwhile, Uber issued its own statement saying, "We are filming with Robert De Niro in London for a new Uber UK campaign, which will launch later in the year.
