Skip the bump and grind. It's okay not to have sex on Valentine's Day

The pressure of having sex on Valentine's Day can be too much for some people, which is why one sex therapist says it's a good idea to skip the hanky panky today.

In an interview with the New York Post, sex therapist Laura Berman revealed, "I had so many couples coming to me after Valentine's Day so disappointed in themselves, in their relationship and their partner that they didn't have this Earth-shattering, sensual and romantic experience."

"They're thinking their relationship is doomed, and it creates all this pressure," she added.

The expectation that they must have sex creates too much pressure on the couple and can lead to performance anxiety.

Which is why Berman suggests skipping the woopy.

Taking the pressure off from having a wild romp in the sack can actually help couples reconnect in other ways.

Berman suggests in lieu of "some idealized romantic extravaganza, going on a simple walk can go a long way."

"The key is making space for those other relaxing things by taking some of those stereotypical expectations off of yourself if they don't feel good."

So, pour some wine, put on the sweats, and snuggle.

If it leads to something more, great. If not, all good.
