The older we get, the more we become ole cranks like Statler and Waldorf from the Muppets.

Nothing can please us, and we are never truly happy unless we have something to complain about.

A recent study could validate the stereotype of the cranky middle-aged person.

During the survey, people were asked if they felt more positive or negative as they age.

The bad news is that 19% think they're slowly becoming a downer as they age, and 5% think they're becoming a lot more negative each passing year.

These people tend to start their cranky era around age 42.

It's not all bad, though.

The good news is 18% of people say their mood has become alot more positive as they've aged, and 26% more say they're generally more positive.
