A viral cleaning hack has people running their microwaves.
You've probably seen the trend on social media of people trying to remove the front glass from the microwave for easier cleaning.

Gina DeMarco, known as thehypnoinfluencer, recently posted a video of herself trying this method, claiming she just found out about the hack.

Soon, TikTok was flooded with videos of people testing it out, and some where pleasantly surprised to see the glass slide out, while other's were out of luck.
I tried this on my appliance and was momentarily disappointed when it didn't work, so no easy cleaning for me.

However, if your glass does slide out, be careful as it could void your warranty.
In an interview with the Kitchn, cleaning expert Daniel Brown, CEO of Handy Cleaners, said there are risks when doing this.
"Although this method can offer easy and better access to deeper cleaning and those places that are hard to reach on your microwave door, doing this can void the manufacturer's warranty."
He adds that there are risks involved that can be potential safety issues.
"Taking out the microwave door has the capability of damaging the integrity of the microwave, which can lead to several hazards such as potential exposure to harmful microwaves, electrical malfunctions, and even injuries due to broken glass," Brown adds.
So, basically, just because you can doesn't mean you should. It's still kind of cool to discover, though.
