Officers with the Barrie Police Service attended to an early morning crash involving a vehicle and a hydro pole.

Peter Leon, Barrie police communications coordinator, told Barrie 360 they responded just before 2:20 a.m. this morning to the single-vehicle collision on Ferndale Drive North near Edgehill Drive

He said wires came down due to the crash, and added that repairs are being made to the damaged infrastructure.

Ferndale was closed between Edgehill and Lennox Drive but reopened around 12:15 p.m.

Leon says the investigation continues into how the crash occurred.
