GO service was disrupted for a time on the Barrie line on Monday afternoon after a train struck and killed a pedestrian in Bradford.

Metrolinx confirmed the fatality on its website.

The pedestrian was struck by a southbound train in the area of 20th Sideroad and Line 12. The train had left the Allandale Waterfront GO station in Barrie shortly after 1 p.m.

Service on the Barrie line has resumed following the police investigation.
