Gala in the Woods 2024

After the huge success of its first event in 2023, Living Green Barrie is excited to bring back the Gala in the Woods on September 21, 2024. This special event will once again transform Springwater Provincial Park into a beautiful, eco-friendly setting where attendees can enjoy nature and delicious local, farm-to-table food. The Gala shows how easy it is to host a sustainable and eco-conscious event.

Focus on Sustainability

The menu this year will be created by Chef Melanie Robinson who is the Co-Owner of Orillia’s Eclectic Cafe and is a Chopped Canada Champion. “As a chef who has highlighted local farm-to-table food in our area- this event is an easy fit for us as well as for our commitment to sustainably in the food industry“ Chef Melanie says.
This event is more than just great food. It's a chance to reconnect with where our food comes from and our responsibility to protect the planet. By using locally sourced ingredients and sustainable practices, the Gala proves that large events can happen with minimal waste.

The 2024 event will also feature the second annual Living Green Business Awards, which recognize local businesses making significant strides in environmental sustainability. These awards aim to showcase and promote their efforts, encouraging other businesses to adopt similar eco-friendly practices.

Set in the peaceful Springwater Park forest, the Gala in the Woods offers an evening where nature and delicious, locally sourced food come together. As the sun sets and moonlight shines through the trees, guests will experience the perfect mix of environmental preservation and community celebration.
