Huronia West OPP say they did not have to work hard to find a "senseless driver" while on patrol in Duntroon, Clearview Township.
According to police, an officer was stopped at a red light behind a grey Dodge Ram pick-up when the truck driver decided to do a stationary burn-out while waiting.
Once they stopped the driver, OPP say it was determined the suspect was under the influence of alcohol. He then failed a roadside sample and was arrested for impaired driving.
According to police, they then found out he was criminally disqualified from driving since 2019, as well he was under two additional provincial driving suspensions, and numerous prior convictions.
A 55-year-old Grey County man was held for bail, and faces the following charges:
- Impaired driving
- Prohibited driving
- Dangerous driving
- Uttering threats
- Mischief under $5000
- Stunt driving
- Driving while under suspension
His vehicle was impounded, and the driver was held for a show cause hearing.
OPP say that if you suspect impaired driving, or see dangerous driving behaviour, do not hesitate to call 9-1-1.
