Single-vehicle crash in Huntsville leads to impaired driving charges

Officers say the vehicle collided with a traffic light post causing damage to the traffic lights

Provincial police arrested and charged a driver after a single-vehicle collision in Huntsville Wednesday morning.

Just after 12:00 a.m., Huntsville OPP responded to the crash on Highway 60 at its intersection with Szawloski Drive.

Officers say the vehicle collided with a traffic light post causing damage to the traffic lights.

A 28-year-old Huntsville man now faces multiple charges as follows:

  • Operating a vehicle while impaired
  • Novice driver with a blood alcohol concentration above zero
  • Careless driving
  • Driving a vehicle with liquor readily available
  • Driving a vehicle while handling a communication device

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on September 27.
