Investigators have confirmed the deceased driver of the northbound car as 49-year-old Myroslav Baran of Toronto.
OPP say investigators that continue to probe the cause of the crash will be assisted by a post-mortem of the deceased that will be conducted in the near future.
Update Saturday, Aug 13, 12:00 pm:
OPP say Highway 400 southbound from Highway 12 in Waubaushene down to Vasey Road in Coldwater is reopened.
Previous Story:
A serious two-vehicle crash on Highway 400 between Vasey Road and Highway 12 in Tay Township closed the roadway Saturday morning.
The highway was fully closed shortly after 1:33 a.m. after Southern Georgian Bay OPP officers arrived at the scene.
First responders attended to the incident that happened in the southbound lanes of Highway 400 around 600 meters north of Vasey Road.
Police say a southbound pickup truck and trailer were struck by a car travelling northbound in the southbound lanes.
According to OPP, the driver of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene and the driver of the pickup truck was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Highway 400 was reopened for traffic at 5:42 a.m., and the southbound lanes are expected to be reopened by 11:30 a.m.
Officers say an investigation into the crash is being conducted by OPP Central Region Technical Traffic investigators (TTCI).
