Orillia OPP say they have charged three drivers with impaired driving within less than a twenty-four-hour time frame.
On Friday, August 12, shortly after 11:00 pm, police conducted a traffic stop on Colborne Street for traffic violations. Officers further down then received a complaint for the same vehicle.
A 33-year-old Ramara Township woman has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear before Orillia court on Sept.
Their vehicle was impounded for seven days and licence suspended for 90.
Then on Saturday, August 13, around 6:00 am, OPP were dispatched to a driving complaint in the area of Poughkeepsie Street.
Officers located the vehicle, and upon speaking with the driver began an impaired driving investigation.
As a result, a 59-year-old Orillia man is up on a number of charges:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Driving while under suspension
- Operate motor vehicle- no insurance
He was also released on an undertaking and will appear in Orillia court at the beginning of Sept.
And then on Saturday evening just after 8:00 pm, police responded to a complaint from a business on Atherley Road for a possible impaired driver.
A 35-year-old Orillia woman faces charges including:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Refusal to comply with a demand
- Drive motor vehicle - liquor readily available
She was released on an appearance notice, and is scheduled for court on Sept. 6.
The accused's vehicle was impounded for seven days, and license suspended for 90.
