Barrie Police say they nabbed a suspect in just 12 minutes after receiving a call Sunday from the Dollarama on Dunlop Street East about a window being shattered. The person was arrested for mischief.

This wasn't the guy's only encounter with police.

Last Tuesday, he was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000 for throwing a rock through the window of Anne's Variety on Dunlop Street West.

"Although the incident occurred at 6:42 a.m., it was captured in its entirety by closed circuit television (CCTV) in the area and while police were reviewing the video, the male returned to the front of the store, where he was arrested without incident," police said in a news release on Monday.

The accused was released from custody with a Sept. 9th court date.

"Yesterday’s investigation was heightened by a second report of a window being broken at Dunlop Convenience. This business was located directly across the street from the original call for service and again, after utilizing CCTV, it was determined the male in custody was also responsible for breaking this window at 8:13 a.m.," police added.

In both of yesterday’s occurrences, police said the man was seen striking the windows with an object that was in his possession at the time of his arrest.

The accused has been charged with two additional charges of mischief under $5,000 for his "criminal escapade" in downtown Barrie.

He was held in custody for a bail hearing that is scheduled for later on Monday.
